Sonja is an award-winning writer/director represented by William Morris Endeavor (WME) and Management 360. She was chosen as one of the "Ten Filmmakers To Watch in" by Independent Magazine. Past recipients of this honor included Barry Jenkins, Academy Award winning director of Moonlight, and Effie Brown, producer of Netflix's Dear White People.
Sonja recently directed her debut feature film ROOT LETTER (written by Tribeca Narrative Prize winning David Ebeltoft) which was based on a popular Japanese video game. You can read about it in Variety here.
As a filmmaker, Sonja's work has been nominated for the Streamy Awards and the Indie Series Awards. She was also awarded the coveted "Best Director" prize at the prestigious New York Television Festival for creating and directing Doomsday. Her series was profiled on Emmys.com here.)
