Sonja is an award-winning writer/director who was recently chosen as one of the "Ten Filmmakers To Watch in 2017" by Independent Magazine. Past recipients of this honor included Barry Jenkins, Academy Award winning director of Moonlight, and Effie Brown, producer of Netflix's Dear White People. She is represented by William Morris Endeavor (WME) and Pulse Films.
As a filmmaker, Sonja's work has been nominated for the Streamy Awards and the Indie Series Awards. She was also awarded the coveted "Best Director" prize at the prestigious New York Television Festival for creating and directing Doomsday. Her series was profiled on Emmys.com here.)
